Oily skin does not tend to go away completely, but as we age the skin produces less of the protein collagen and the sebaceous glands slow down reducing the amount of oil, however this is not the case for everyone.
Diet is unlikely to be the root cause of oily skin but some foods can contribute to it including;
Fatty meats – red meat such as beef and lamb contains saturated fats which contribute to oiliness of skin
Dairy – milk products affect hormones that can trigger oily skin and acne breakouts
Salty and deep fried food- too much oily salty snacks contain trans- fats which can aggravate oily skin
Sugar & alcohol – these are both inflammatory to the body and can contribute to oils skin
