What is a MesoPeel?

MesoPeel is a range of advanced chemical peels designed for professional use to address various skin concerns. These peels are formulated with a combination of active ingredients, such as AHAs, BHAs, and other specialised compounds, which are carefully selected to target specific skin issues. MesoPeel treatments can effectively treat:

  • Hyperpigmentation (dark spots or uneven skin tone)
  • Signs of ageing (fine lines and wrinkles)
  • Acne and breakouts
  • Congestion and excess oil production
  • Skin imperfections (texture irregularities, enlarged pores

About the treatment

We have a range of 3 MesoPeels which can be tailored to each skin concern depending on your goals and what your skin is presenting on the day, these include:

  • Azelan MesoPeel: Acne, Acne scarring, Oily skin & Rosacea

This peel consists of two acids. Azelaic acid acts as an antimicrobial against bacterial acne and also normalises the keratinisation process of follicles. Salicylic acid acts as an efficient peel in correcting Hyperkeratosis, skin flaking and controlling sebum production

  • MelanoStop MesoPeel: Pigmentation & Sun damage

This peel contains three acids that work together to treat melasma and other melanic hyperpigmentation. Azelaic Acid is used to treat melanoma due to its tyrosinase inhibitor effect. Resorcinol, improves skin texture and combats hyperpigmentation. Phytic Acid is a depigmentation and antioxidant agent, and is a strong acid which upon application to skin causes superficial chemical exfoliation. Together these Acids work to reduce melanin formation.

  • Jessner MesoPeel: Anti-Ageing & Skin Brightening

This Peel contains three acids; Lactic Acid is used as an exfoliating agent, it activates collagen and elastin formation as well as increasing Hyaluronic Acid concentration in the extracellular matrix; Salicylic acid is used for its ability to regulate oil production along with it antiseptic and antibacterial properties to really clean and soothe the skin; Citric Acid is used for its anti-ageing and antioxidant properties. The combination of these three acids helps with the recovery of lost skin tone, texture and luminosity.

MesoPeel FAQ's

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding MesoPeel Treatments

MesoPeel works by exfoliating the skin and addressing various skin concerns through the use of active ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, and other specialised compounds. Here’s what it does to the skin:

  1. Exfoliates and Removes Dead Skin Cells: MesoPeel helps to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover for smoother, fresher skin.
  2. Improves Skin Texture: The treatment can refine skin texture by smoothing rough patches and reducing the appearance of pores, leading to a more even complexion.
  3. Targets Hyperpigmentation: It helps to lighten dark spots, sun damage, and pigmentation issues by promoting more even skin tone.
  4. Reduces Acne and Breakouts: MesoPeel helps to unclog pores, reduce excess oil, and minimise acne-causing bacteria, making it effective for acne-prone skin.
  5. Stimulates Collagen Production: By exfoliating the skin and promoting cell turnover, MesoPeel encourages collagen production, which helps improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  6. Controls Oil Production: For oily and congested skin, MesoPeel helps to balance oil levels and reduce shine.
  7. Promotes a Healthy Glow: By clearing out imperfections and revitalising the skin, MesoPeel leaves the skin looking fresh, radiant, and rejuvenated.

Overall, MesoPeel helps improve skin clarity, texture, and tone while addressing a variety of concerns such as acne, pigmentation, and signs of ageing.

After a MesoPeel, you can expect mild redness for a few hours, followed by dryness and peeling over the next 3-5 days. Your skin may feel sensitive and you’ll need to avoid sun exposure, using oil-free SPF. Some may experience a temporary breakout (purging), but this clears up quickly. Results typically show in 2-4 weeks, with smoother, brighter, and more even-toned skin. Be sure to follow aftercare instructions for the best results.

After a MesoPeel, you may experience mild and temporary side effects, including redness, dryness, tightness, peeling, or flaking within a few days. Some people may also experience temporary breakouts (purging) as impurities surface, and increased sensitivity to the sun, so it’s important to use SPF. These effects typically resolve quickly, but if you experience severe irritation, consult your practitioner.

The main difference between MesoPeel and other chemical peels is its customizability and versatility. MesoPeel offers a wide range of formulations designed to target specific skin concerns like acne, pigmentation, ageing, and congestion, making it suitable for all skin types and tones. Unlike other peels that may focus on just one concern, MesoPeel can be tailored to address multiple issues in one treatment.

Additionally, MesoPeel uses a combination of AHAs, BHAs, and other advanced ingredients that work synergistically to exfoliate, regenerate, and balance the skin. This makes MesoPeel more adaptable and effective for a variety of skin conditions, compared to more generalised or single-ingredient peels.

Most people will experience minimal to no physical peeling following the treatment, this is one of the main benefits there is very little downtime. The treatments are performed in a course of 6, 2 weeks apart so the exfoliation is gradual.

Results from a MesoPeel can typically be seen within 2 to 4 weeks after treatment. You may notice an immediate improvement in skin texture and radiance, with continued benefits such as reduced pigmentation, smoother skin, and a more even tone appearing over the next few weeks. For optimal results, a series of treatments may be recommended, depending on your skin concerns

Avoid extreme heat, swimming, excessive exercise, using acids, exfoliators or retinoids for 24 hours. Make-up can be worn from the following day but be sure to use clean brushes and remove thoroughly.

The number of MesoPeel treatments you’ll need depends on your skin concerns and goals. For most people, a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results. However, some clients may see improvements with just one treatment, especially for a targeted glow-up or specific concerns. Your practitioner will assess your skin and recommend a tailored treatment plan.

Yes, MesoPeels are generally safe when performed by a trained and experienced professional. The peels are designed with a range of ingredients that are specifically formulated to address various skin concerns while minimising the risk of irritation. However, like any chemical peel, there may be some mild side effects, such as redness, peeling, or sensitivity, but these are typically temporary and subside within a few days.

Yes, MesoPeels are generally safe for black skin, as they can be customised to suit various skin types and tones. MesoPeels use a range of ingredients that are effective in addressing concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and uneven skin tone, which are common in darker skin types.

However, it’s crucial that the peel is tailored to your skin’s specific needs, as darker skin can be more prone to hyperpigmentation or scarring if the treatment is too harsh. A skilled practitioner will adjust the peel strength and carefully monitor the process to ensure safe and effective results.

Always consult with an experienced professional who is knowledgeable in treating diverse skin tones to ensure the peel is right for you.
