What are Dark Circles?
Dark Circles are charactertised as dark purple or pigmented skin around the eyes, especially the under eye. They can be exacerbated by lines, wrinkles and thinning skin.
Common Dark Circle causes:
- Tiredness - this is the most common cause, if you don't get enough sleep it causes the dark circles to get worse causing you to look tired
- Diet - having a bad diet, including drinking a lot of caffeine and not enough water can be contributing factors
- Skin thinning - this is natural with ageing, the thinning skin can result in the muscle under the eye being visible through the skin and resulting in it looking worse
- Pigmentation - most commonly seen in darker skin types, this can be hereditary but the previous causes can lead to them appearing worse

Dark Circles FAQ
A combination of skincare and treatments is recommended for the optimum results. We use the Perk Eye treatment which effectively removes dead skin, increasing cell turnover and brightening and tightening the eye area. As part of the treatment you get a months worth of free eye serum which you are advised to use everyday.
A course of 3 monthly treatments is needed and we recommend using the AQ Skin Solutions eye serum along side this for the best possible results, we have a package available for this.
Drink plenty of water and using cold compresses and a jade roller to increase lymphatic flow can also be beneficial. Don't be afraid to exfoliate your eyes, use your ring finger to apply the least pressure but exfoliation is important all over the body, the eyes included!
